On the verge of launching the 1991 Gulf War, President Bush invited the Foundation to the White House and made a generous personal contribution.  He said this about the black patriots,  “think about how much they must have loved this country, how they believed in its dreams. It's an astounding devotion.  It's in a league by itself.”
