Here is a brief list of early Indian traders whose DNA we are interested in; there are undoubtedly many others. Many of these traders had both white and Indian wives, by the way. Some of them may be known as Longhunters in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Jamestown, Virginia Year : 1607

The London Company of England founded Jamestown in 1607 when they came to rest at the James River in 1607. They named the settlement, Jamestown and it became the first permanent English colony in the new world. The founders of the London Company believed precious metals existed in the Americas. They spent about ten thousand dollars to send three groups of emigrants to settle the Virginia Colonies. The Englishmen had to endure many suffering because they settled on swampland, plagued by malaria and stomach-turning water and a lack of food supplies. The colonist almost starved to death and would have without the support of the Powhatans during their first terrible winter in 1607-1608.
